The biological meaning of the term adult refers to a human or animal that is one that has completely developed. In the context of humans, the word adult can have meanings that are connected to social or legal ideas. An adult who is legally mature and not "minors" or non-adults are those who are of the majority age and therefore considered independent, responsible as well as autonomous. It is possible to refer to them as a "major". Age 18 is an adult legal age but this definition can differ depending on the country, rights of the law or mental development.

When we enter the age of early adulthood (20 to early 40s) the physical development is completed, though the size and weight of our bodies could increase a bit. As we grow older, we are at the highest level of physical abilities.
